  • The story behind the image:

    The heart of Times Square, NYC. Where else can you go see Mary Poppins and Madame Tussauds on the same block but on 42nd Street? If you look off to the right, the site for my mural based painting Deadliest Catch is in full view, making this whole scene somewhat of an alternate reality...

    The painting itself required a lot of drawing with clay pencils which were incorporated into the final layers of paint. The wet puddles, strong one-point perspective and atmospheric color balance created quite a compositonal challenge, but added to all the fun of creation nonetheless.
