The story behind the image:Time of day with outstanding window reflections provided perfect contrast between commercializtion and commodification of otherwise attractive architecture. Yellow cabs made for a great color compliment as well.
Although this piece was relatively small, its detail led to the makings of a time consuming painting. Trust me.
"The signs and buildings of New York City are fluid, ever-changing, and no snapshot could possibly capture more than a momentary portrait of any given vista; but Denis, through his art, manages to snare a true, timeless sense of how the city feels."
