Living near to the track at Belmont has its advantages.

Although its mostly the betting crowd, the back stables are always a treat to see. I took my original photo with a small consumer camera, but nonetheless couldn't wait to get back to the studio to begin painting it. This small watercolor on paper started off as a preparatory study, but I liked it to the degree that I decided to make it my final piece on the subject.
